Shooting engagement session is one of our favorite part of getting to know a couple because that’s when we can ask them a gazillion questions about everything from how they first met to where they’ve gone together. Madonna and Richard are by far the biggest foodie and wanderlust we know! I love to travel myself, but haven’t gone to too many places so I love to hear about their adventures. It’s fun when both share such passion for food, art, history, and just enjoying the simple pleasures of exploring together. They showed us this wonderful location where they often hike and we are so giddy to add another wonderful engagement session spot to our list! Thank you!

My apology for my absence in blog posting! We went on a two weeks vacation at the beginning of March and came back to a handful of boudoir shoots and prepping for Jenn and John’s wedding. I’ve been trying to catch up ever since. Moving on! We were lucky to start off the wedding season early in March with Jenn and John’s beauuuuuuutiful wedding at the California Golf Club and Grand Palace Restaurant. If you remember seeing their engagement session, you know they are a couple you can’t keep your eyes off! I’m really excited to share some photos from their wedding because I love how everything turned out! Here are some photos from their day to give you a taste of what I mean. Enjoy!

It’s only Wednesday? Seems like it’s been so busy already! I’m exhausted doing 5 boudoir shoots in the last two days, and I caught a case of the sniffies, so I hope I am able to recover by Saturday for Jenn and John’s wedding!

We just came back from a 2-week vacation to Asia (again) and I’m trying to get through the day without missing all the great experiences we had on our trip. Will share later! So amazing! Anyways, as I was laying out a wedding album, I came across this image I took 3 years ago at Hyacinth and Will’s wedding at Sonoma Cornerstone garden.

San Francisco Infant Photography | Baby Keaton

One of our dear friend just gave birth to their sweet little darling boy, Keaton. Oh joy!!! I’m starting to get use to being auntie Lily. It’s a strange feeling when you don’t think you’re old but your friends around you and your sibling are starting to have babies. That made me realize I’m growing up way faster than I know it, or want to admit it. So baby, enjoy your youth while you’re at it.

I admit I’m not the type who knows what to do when someone hands me a baby. While I held Keaton awkwardly in my arms, he started goo-goo-gaa-gaaing and smiling at me, and that moment totally melted my heart and made me laugh. They say the joy of a baby is worth all the sleepless nights . Oh dear, I really hope so.

Sacramento Wedding Photography | Monica + Kevin

Yesterday night was one of those stay-at-home evening where you snuggle up with your partner to watch a good movie and have some hot chocolate. We were watching Call of the Wild (have you seen it you dog lovers out there?), and it’s a great story about a domesticated dog name Buck in the late 1800′s learning how to survive in the wild. The movie totally reminded me of the rich history of the Gold Rush era and where better to learn about the Gold Rush than in Sacramento. Sacramento, California, is our state capital where pioneers had once settled during the days of gold nuggets and mining. Fast forward a century later and this is where Kevin and Monica had their wedding celebration. These two lovely pair tied the knot it Hawaii but wanted to celebrate with family and friends back home. We went out to the Capital building to capture some of their wedding portraits in the late winter afternoon sun.

A Taste of Paris 2011

Benson and I did a Europe trip last spring to 6 cities, and Paris was one of them. When I look back at these pictures I can’t believe it’s been almost a year ago since we were there. I never got around to making use of the videos I took with my Canon S95 so here are some short clips of the sparkling Eiffel Tower on our first night there, and the sweetest Parisian woman making crepes for us. On our last morning in Paris we waited for her to open shop so we can buy another delicious crepe from her before we took the Metro to the airport. Paris is beautiful and everyone was so nice to us unlike what others have said! I wish we had more time there to explore. Touring the Louvre museum took all day and drained all the energy out of us, and going to Versailles to see the Palace was another full day.

Not sure what to wear for your winter engagement shoot? Here’s a few tips and ideas on outfits that will keep you warm, comfortable, and stylish for your shoot. From left to right, this fall and winter you’ll see lots of fur vest every where, so you won’t go wrong with this trendy outerwear that will keep you toasty during your few hours outdoor. If you feel like dressing up a little to show your feminine side, a sweater dress with stockings and booties will rock your session for sure. Sweater dresses are always in style every season, so if you have one already in your closet pull it out and dress it up with accessories. Lastly a simple solid color dress always work well for photo shoots so be creative and add your own style with your favorite (edgy, retro, glamorous) accessories. This red dress will be catchy in front of the camera and perfect to highlight the bride-to-be.

San Francisco City Hall Wedding

I love San Francisco City Hall for all its beauty and grandeur. The grand staircase itself makes me feel like I’m in a palace, and the lights that shine through the windows set the magical ambiance of the building. The Rotunda under the dome is magnificent as well as the detailed carvings surrounding the interior of the building. When ever I walk into the building it feels like I’ve been taken away to another time. Maybe to the 1800′s with a lady wearing a poof dress walking down the staircase, or the 1920′s with an entourage of reporters swarming the place to talk to the major.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure in meeting Jeffrey and Ceecee at City Hall to document their civil ceremony, and here are some photos we took after their ceremony. We also went to Alamo Square for a few photos to capture the essence of San Francisco but the sun was extremely harsh around that time, so we left in a jiffy and went to the Presideo. I was as happy as a clam when we found a spot in the shade with the sun shinning through the trees. Enjoy!
